"Paris, The city of light"

Paris, capital of France, is a big European city and a world center of art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. In addition to monuments such as the Eiffel Tower and the Gothic Notre-Dame cathedral of the 12th century, the city is famous for its cafes and luxury shops lining the street Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. The most populous city in France, Paris is the first among the urban areas of the European Union ahead of London and the 29^th most populous in the world. Paris has more than 2,19 million inhabitants.

Symbol of French culture, headquarters of many international organizations, the city, named the City of Light, attracts in 2017, 34 million visitors; making it one of the most visited capitals in the world. Paris also occupies  a prominent place in the world in the field of fashion, luxury and gourmet cuisine. The French capital is twinned with only one other city, Rome, which is valid in the reverse direction, with the slogan: "Only Paris is worthy of Rome, only Rome is worthy of Paris".

• In February-March, parade the traditional procession of Carnival of Paris and that of the Mi-Carême;
• March: The Book Fair, the Spring of Poets and the Festival of Sacred Music;
• At the end of April or the beginning of May, the Paris Fair recalls the great medieval gatherings;  
• Festival of Music: June, 21;
• The Paris Jazz Festival from the end of June to the end of July;
• The Paris Summer Festival from early July to early August;
• From the end of August to mid-September Jazz à la Villette;
• The Techno Parade and La Parisienne in September.

Endowed with famous monuments listed in the World Heritage of UNESCO, Paris is a leading cultural center.
